Disinfection with activated steamPublished on November 10, 2009The most frequently used disinfection and disinfestation technique in the gardening-floriculture sector – due to excellent phytoiatric and productive results and for the relevant herbicidal action obtained – is certainly fumigation with methyl bromide (Martino, 1997; Nederpel, 1979). As is common knowledge, following the Montreal Protocol, the use of this fumigant was prohibited since January 2005 in economically developed countries and since 2015 it could also not be used in developing countries, due to the fact that it is held responsible for the depletion of ozone layer. Bioflash machine of the month for the Agricultural Reseller newspaperPublished on November 10, 2009A decidedly innovative machine for soil disinfection and disinfestation with the utmost respect for the environment. Thanks to the synthesis of chemical and mechanical virtues and to an ancient remedy than can be used in recent times: steam. Davide Facchinetti's article for Il Giornale del Rivenditore Agrario. Soil disinfection and thermal disinfestation machinesPublished on July 21, 2003The system, called «bioflash», uses steam and exothermic reaction substances. Five years of testing have optimized it and the machines, a full-field operator and a self-propelled machine with rubber tracks for greenhouses or tunnels will be on the market by 2004.
